Recently, many people are becoming engaged with online earning. But, in Bangladesh withdrawing money by doing online jobs (freelancing) is quite difficult task. Here, PayPal is not available. Only available options are moneybookers (skrill) and alertpay. But, the charge of alertpay is quite high and it it not usable in many sites including odesk.
On the other hand, the charges of moneybookers is very low and you can easily transfer your money from moneybookers to your local bank. If you work on odesk or sites like that, then you can use payoneer master card. But, the initial fees of the card is like $15. But, there is no initial charge at moneybookers.
So, how can anyone withdraw money from moneybookers using bank account in Bangladesh?
It’s so simple. Just follow the steps:
- Open an account on moneybookers.
- Verify your address on moneybookers.
- Add your bank swift code.
- Add your bank account number.
- Withdraw money via your bank account.
Opening Moneybookers Account
If you do not have a moneybookers account just go to www.moneybookers.com and open an account. Give your real name and address. Use the name that you have used to open your bank account. Remmember the birthday date, because it will be needed at the time of withdrawing money.
Verifying Address
In your account setting, you will find an option to verify your address (Beside your address). Click this link and they will send you a verification pin or code at your address. The letter will arrive within 10 days. I got this letter within 5 days and I live in Khulna. After you receive the letter with the pin, enter the pin and your address will be verified.
Adding Bank Swift Code
This is the code for a bank to transfer money.
- The swift code of DBBL is DBBLBDDH.
- The swift code of Brac Bank is BRAKBDDH.
If you have account on other banks, please see their website’s help or contact us page or collect it from the banks.
Adding Bank Account
After adding swift code, you need to add your bank account number. Just put the bank account number here.
Now you are eligible to withdraw money from your moneybookers account via your bank account. The withdrawal fee is about $2.5 per withdrawal and you will receive the money within 7 days.
I use DBBL. I got my first money within 4 days. But, you should keep in mind about the local and international holidays.

I’m using Moneybookers since last 3 years. Incoming from freelancer/oDesk/elance was totally free and withdrawal costs approx. $2.5.
But recently they converted my account as business account and cuts approx. 4% on all incoming. I transferred my money from freelancer to moneybookers and they took a huge amount on incoming.
I contacted with their support to revert my account to basic account and refund the fee but they told me that all the accounts getting money from freelancer sites will be treated as business account. I searched the whole site but did not get any information related this.

For my last transaction from Moneybookers i have lost $15. They say that it was fee cut by intermediary banks, through which brac bank receives money. But as far as i know Brac bank doesn’t use any intermediary Bank to receive money. As in past all foreign transaction i received didn’t cut any fees. Moneybookers recently had a problem with USD withdraw, that is why all withdraws were delayed. What i need is confirmation whether BRAC back uses any intermediary banks to receive money from abroad. This is the first time i received $15 less from Moneybookers.

Moneybookers and odesk email should be same. Open an new moneybookers account with your email which you have used in odesk.

skrill (moneybookers) cut a lot of charge during withdrawal. if u have a visa card, y don’t u use it directly from your workstation (odesk/elance)? that will save a lot of time n money.
also, if u are using odesk, you can get it directly transferred from odesk A/c to any bangladeshi bank account for $5 charge – as far as i know. hope that helps.

if u are using odesk, you can get it directly transferred from odesk A/c to any bangladeshi bank account for $5 charge – as far as i know. hope that helps.
as for the $15 charge, i faced this problem twice about 5 months ago. y don’t u take up the direct transfer method from odesk?
also, you can opt for the payoneer debit mastercard option from odesk/elance – i’ve been using that and it is pretty good option compared to MB.

No, you do not need to enable eBay account for withdrawing. You just need to your address to be verified.

If your moneybookers id is address verified then you can withdraw money as many times as you like but there is a withdrawal limit. And do not do moneybookers to moneybookers transaction too much. It is the main reason why moneybookers is requesting bank and id verification.

So now what to do cause my bank account has middle name and i want to write my name exactly in the same manner as in my bank account. Please guys help me out.
There is no option to change the name in moneybookers. You have to start with a new account. Put your middle name with the first name or last name. This may help you.

I’ve been doing freelancing for past 6 months and have been using the MB for getting the money. However, just a few weeks ago I heard from a colleague of mine that he has again experienced a deduction of about 1680 BDT (about $20) when withdrawing from Moneybookers via his DBBL account. I also have a DBBL account and has been using it for quite some time but now I am wondering if it was DBBL’s problem or Moneybooker’s problem or even the problem is going to be resolved or not…so I’m practically a bit tensed now and I really wanna know what you would suggest.
Btw, I have also sent moneybookers a mail about this but still no reply from them.
Would you also tell me if I use Payoneer Master Debit Card then how much charge would that cost me? The same colleague of mine also mentioned that payoneer is safer but gives a worse conversion rate (about 79 BDT/USD against Moneybooker’s 81 BDT/USD)…so what is you suggstion?

Yes, it is true that MB is deducting some extra charge sometimes. But, if are going to withdraw less than $100, then there will be no problem.
I have personally faced this problem only once in my MB life back in Jan’12. But, after that I have made few withdrawals, both below and above $100, each time I got the total money.
In the case of Payoneer Master Card, if you haven’t activated it yet, then you will be charged somewhat like $16 for the first time.
Another thing, from the next month DBBL is going to increase the minimum balance from 500 to 2000 BDT for the savings a/c holders.
In my point of view, I will suggest you to go for payoneer master card because it is quick and hustle free and you can make online payments through it.

I just want to say that I’ve made a withdrawal from moneybookers about 2 weeks ago (right after I posted the query here) and the amount was (after moneybookers deduction) $103. So according to that equation I should have received around 8343 BDT but I only got 7000, so it was about $15 or more charge deduction from the bank. What I’m thinking is whether it was the intermediary bank or the DBBL that cut the charges. DBBL didn’t help either, they said they didn’t charge such amount. So in that case I’m thinking whether this is only DBBL’s problem or any other bank’s.
Now I’m thinking about withdrawing to my Prime Bank account instead of DBBL for once, just to see whether the same thing happens. But do you have any suggestion regarding any bank that would be better at such transaction than DBBL? Cuz I’ve heard that during the first few months of 2012 a few users found the problem with their DBBL charges but when they used the BRAC Bank they got the full money. What do you suggest?
And about the payoneer, I’m still waiting for the card to arrive but at Banasree I didn’t receive the card even after 2 months! So I figured it must be something wrong with my Rampura/Khilgaon post office so I’m opting for the Uttara address instead. Let’s see what happens!

No, You can’t. Sometimes it takes more time than usual to receive the letter. Hope you get it. Otherwise, you can verify your identity by National ID card.

Dear sadia, if already u got the address verification letter with the code included, u can verify Your moneybookers account by giving the code in a specific place. u will find the code placement area in moneybookers after login to Your account. maybe that will at the side of address verify location. after click the verify u will found the blank tab where u can put the code which u got in to the letter. well, u only can verify ur address after requesting for it and with the code which they sent to u through letter by post mail.
and yes, if ur Bank will have a SWIFT code (the code which is the identity of a bank) then u can must transfer ur money through that bank. but i hope u know the process, how to do that?
